Uses--Bromo-3-chloropropane can be used safer and equally efficient alternative to chloroform as a phase-separation agent in the 1-step method of RNA isolation from biological samples such as animal and plant tissue. A replacement for CHCl3 in RNA phases separations. 1-Bromo-3-chloropropane is generally used as C₃ linker/spacer in a wide range of molecules including medicinally important compounds. Some of the examples are: Synthesis of polymer nanoparticles (NPs) to deliver doxorubicin, camptothecin, and cisplatin.
