Stripping Column Design​
The steam stripping column’s main objective is to remove various organic contaminants from the plant’s wastewater to meet the guidelines and ideal standards. The waste organic components and steam are condensed and collected separated using a decanter.
                                                           
How does it work?
Also known as steam distillation process, the steam stripping method is one of the most effective and simple ways to clean wastewater streams of the plant site. The entire process is a multistage continuous distillation affair where the steam works as a stripping gas to eliminate hydrocarbons from dischargeable wastewaters.
The goal of waste minimization is achieved based on mass transfer. It works on the principle of making the conditions favourable for the component in a liquid phase and transferred to the vapour phase where a gas-liquid interface gets established.                                                                                      
A stripping column can be divided into three major categories:

• Plate column
• Spray column
• Packed bed column
