Our all kantha quilt items made from old recyled used cotton saree, after done hand stiched on the fabric and in this catagoryt we used four to five layer of vintage recyled farbice after done hand stiched katnha work, each pcs come diffrent and unic and seen very lovely.

This is a super, genuinely old Vintage kantha that is really very attractive indeed. it has some slight fraying at the eges in a couple of places, and a couple of light stains on the under side (see pics 5 & 7) so be aware of this, but apart from this is a real beauty. These are so tough to get hold of now!

Women in India have saved their old sarees to make quilts for centuries, as old cloth was thought to be lucky, and/or have a protective effect, especially if the sarees or lungi used to make them had happy memories attached to them. Clothes worn on days where something unlucky happened are never used, and often burned.
The quilts are made with 3-5 five layers of vintage100% cotton saree's, pierced and stitched together with thousands and thousands of tiny stitches. Each one is special, and each is one of a kind. They may show signs of wear, or have little patches here and there, which only adds to their quirky charm. Some may have extra embroidery, depending on the area or village where the piece was collected. size is 80' x 50' approx. may differ a little from piece to piece.
