Contact SupplierThe FIDEM water-cooled screw chiller, identified as model FM-WCS-200-407C, is purpose-built to deliver a nominal cooling output of 200 TR (approximately 703 kW) and operates using R407C refrigerant, ensuring efficient and stable heat exchange. The system is configured with two fully independent refrigeration circuits, providing high operational reliability, redundancy, and consistent performance under fluctuating load requirements. The unit is suitable for connection to a three-phase, 415 V, 50 Hz electrical supply, with an approximate connected power demand of 150 kW and a full-load current of around 243 A. Precise refrigerant control and effective capacity regulation are achieved through an electronic expansion valve, which enhances response accuracy and optimizes part-load operating efficiency.
The chiller is fitted with a shell-and-tube evaporator designed specifically for chilled water applications and operates at a saturated suction temperature (SST) of +10 °C. The evaporator is designed for a chilled water temperature profile of 15 °C at inlet and 20 °C at outlet, delivering a chilled water flow of 26,500 LPH, corresponding to an effective temperature difference of approximately 23 °C. The evaporator comprises two circuits and provides a net cooling capacity of 703 kW. The shell is manufactured from 10 mm thick seamless carbon steel, while the heat transfer surface consists of internally grooved copper tubes arranged in a U-bundle configuration to maximize thermal efficiency. The evaporator is equipped with 6-inch flanged water connections and is designed to operate with a maximum water-side pressure drop of 0.4 bar, a water-side design pressure of 10 bar, and a refrigerant-side design pressure of 25 bar.
Continuous circulation of chilled water is provided by a centrifugal monoblock pump supplied with the chiller package. The pump is rated for a flow capacity of 120,000 LPH at a head of 16.3 meters and is driven by an 11 kW electric motor, ensuring steady and reliable chilled water flow through the evaporator and connected process or air-conditioning systems.
The water-cooled condenser, also of shell-and-tube design, is engineered to operate at a saturated discharge temperature (SDT) of +35 °C. The condenser is capable of rejecting a total thermal load of 718 kW and features a carbon steel shell with epoxy coating to enhance corrosion resistance and extend equipment life. The condenser heat transfer tubes are made of plain copper tubes assembled in a removable bundle, allowing convenient access for cleaning and maintenance. The condenser is designed for a cooling water flow rate of 140,000 LPH, with 6-inch flanged inlet and outlet connections, and maintains a water-side pressure drop not exceeding 0.4 bar. The design pressure ratings are 10 bar on the water side and 30 bar on the refrigerant side.
Condenser water circulation is maintained by a centrifugal monoblock pump rated for 140,000 LPH at a developed head of 15.7 meters. The pump is powered by an 11 kW motor, suitable for operation on a 380–415 V, 50 Hz electrical supply, ensuring stable and efficient condenser performance.
The refrigeration system incorporates compact screw compressors designed for continuous duty, heavy-load operation, and long service life. Compressor capacity control is achieved through step or stepless modulation, with unloading stages of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, enabling efficient operation during partial-load conditions. Compressor starting is accomplished using a star-delta starting method, while VFD operation is available as an optional configuration for improved energy efficiency and smoother capacity variation. The compressor package is capable of delivering a maximum cooling capacity of 718 kW, with actual power consumption dependent on operating conditions and site-specific parameters.
