22 KV Current Transformer

Three type of designs available : 

• Live Tank type : This design is a single bushing design which is high on performance. In this top tank of current transformer is at high potential and Core- Coil assembly is placed in the top tank of the transformer.
• Dead Tank type : This design is double bushing design and most commonly used, reliable and easy to handle and has lesser leakage points.
• Dead Tank Top-Bottom Design : This design is single bushing design, it comprises of top tank and bottom tank but unlike Live tank the core-coil assembly is placed at the bottom tank, This design is more stable as bottom tank is heavier than the top.

For resin casted Indoor type CT’s we have 3 designs :

• Slot CT/ Window CT : This type of Current transformer does not have primary winding and is mounted in line with the bus bars (bolted on both sides). The bar type CT is fully insulated to the switchgear voltage. A window type CT has the incoming or outgoing insulated / shielded cables pulled through it. The high voltage shielded cables are pulled through the hole or ``window`` in the middle of the CT.
• Bar type CT : This type of current transformer consists of a bar of suitable size and material forming a integral part of the transformer.
• Wound Type CT : In This type of This type of CTs have a primary winding of more than one full turn wound over the core of Current transformers. The magnitude of the secondary current is dependent on the turns ratio of the transformer.
