PC Based Three Digit Bank Token Display shows the token no. which is entered through keyboard. This project is specially designed for banks or places where for calling the people Token Number is used. Here the Token Number is entered through keyboard and the number is shown on three 7-segment display. A Window-based program written in ‘C’ language generates the control signals and gives output at PC’s parallel port as shown in the circuit diagram.

The interfacing circuit is designed using three counter ICs as IC1, IC2 and IC3. Three 7-segment displays DIS1, DIS2 and DIS3 are used for display.
About the Circuit :
While discussing about the circuit, refer the program written in ‘C’ language. When program is executed, it gives the message as: “This is the program of three digit bank token display.” Then it asks for, “Enter the Token Number”. When any number up to three digits is entered through keyboard it will generate a control signal and give output at port-2. This output is given to clock input of IC1 through PC’s parallel port. Now IC1, IC2, IC3 starts counting. But you are not able to see the counting, because of very small time delay (in ms). After counting up to the number, which is entered, it will stop. The corresponding number is displayed on three 7-segment displays driven by IC1, IC2 and IC3.
When counting stops, the program gives message : “Press any key to give an alarm…” Pressing of any key generate control signal and gives output at port-4. Base of transistor T1 connected to port-4 through resistor R24 turns on, and the buzzer connected at the collector terminal sounds an alarm. The LED D1 also glows, which gives visual indication. The alarm rises for few seconds. After this the program gives the message as: “Press any key to Reset the display…”After pressing any key, the control gives output at port-3. Port-3 is connected to reset input of IC1, IC2 and IC3. Thus it gets reset and shows ‘000’ on display. Now the program exits and it is ready for next token number.
