projectors. The reason for these glasses to have active shutter is that some active
shutter 3d systems usually require active shutter 3d glasses to work well. The 3d
glasses have a liquid crystal layer in each eye's glass that has the property of
becoming dense when voltage is applied, being otherwise transparent. These 3d
glasses are controlled by a timing signal that allows the glasses to alternately block
one eye, and then the other, in synchronization with the refresh rate of the screen.
