A34012-PCI Pci Extender Card

The Astek A34012-PCI expander card has two x4 mini-SAS HD external connectors (SFF- 8644) and eight x4 mini-SAS HD internal connectors (SFF-8643). The internal connections are dedicated to internal drive connections (32 ports) and for SAS Controller connectivity (8 ports). The Astek A34012-PCI 12Gbs SAS expander card facilitates the transition to 12Gbs SAS with LSI DataBolt™ Bandwidth Optimizer. DataBolt technology is designed to help facilitate the industry transition to 12Gbs SAS-enabled systems by allowing users to utilize existing 6Gbs drives and passive backplanes. The Astek A34012-PCI buffers 6Gbs data and then transfers it out to the host at 12Gbs SAS speeds in order to match the bandwidth between faster hosts and legacy SAS or SATA devices. This device supports SAS data transfer rates of 12, 6, 3Gbs, and SATA data transfer rates of 6 and 3Gbs.
