Abrasives

Abrasives are used to shape or finish a workpiece through rubbing and friction--leading to part of the workpiece being worn away. This process either polishes a workpiece to gain a smooth reflective surface, or roughens a workpiece for a satin, matte or beaded finish. The desired finish, hardness of the work piece, and application should determined the type of abrasive used. Quality abrasives should not only provide the desired finish but last longer and improve productivity.
