EV Simulator is a tool to test an EV Charger without linking any electric vehicle. The EV Simulator is typically used during the commissioning of an electric vehicle (EV) Charging station to validate the basic functions of the newly installed station.
Using the EV simulator, convenient, safe and reliable tests can be conducted. The installation crew can leave the site, knowing the charging station is fully functional. The benefit is a reduction of truck rolls to return to the site for remedial action.
The EV simulator supports successful commissioning and periodic testing of charging stations. The user of the EV-Simulator can simulate the connection of the EV and the power demand of the EV. The charging station should respond by locking the plug and providing power respectively. Indicators on the EV-Simulator show the power output and the phase rotation direction (3 phase stations only).
