Acid Fast Bacilli Kit

Principle

• Pararosaniline in presence of phenol and detergent stains acid fast bacilli (AFB)

• It retains its red-colored dye upon decolorization with 10% acetic acid during counter-stain with malachite green

• All background gets bluish-green color except acid fast bacilli, which remain deep to light red colored

• Rapid-AFB "red stain": 100 ml

  • Pararosaniline Chloride: 30 m Mol/L

  • Methanol: 1.5 m Mol/L

  • Phenol: 265 m Mol/L

  • Detergent: 1 %

  • Contains Stabilizers and preservatives

• Rapid-AFB "Green Stain": 100 ml

  • Malachite green: 1.6 m Mol/L

  • Acid: 1.66 Mol/L

  • Contains surface active agents: Both

  • Stains are ready to use
