Acrylic Mirror is an excellent material to use in place of glass for windows, skylights, doors, partitions, etc. Acrylic is lightweight, half the weight of glass, and it is virtually unaffected by nature. Acrylic's transparency, gloss and dimensional shape are virtually unaffected by years of exposure to the elements, salt spray or corrosive atmospheres. Acrylic materials withstand exposure to light from fluorescent lamps without darkening or deteriorating. Acrylic ultimately will discolor, however, when exposed to high-intensity UV light below 265 nm. Acrylic can take temperatures from -40ºF to 180ºF (intermittent to 200ºF). Acrylic fabrication is easy, as it can be sawed with fine tooth blades, drilled with plastic drills, sanded and polished. Also, acrylic can be cemented with acrylic cement.
� Reflectivity - Approximately 85-90% over the 400-700 nano meter visual light spectrum's.
Lightweight - Less than one half the weight of glass in the same size and thickness.
Break - Resistance can be ten times more break resistant and has seventeen times greater impact resistance than glass of equal thickness.
Heat - Will tolerate continuous service up to 160° F, and can withstand occasional short-term exposure up to 190° F.
Easy Fabrication - various shapes and sizes can be obtained by cutting with conventional power saws and routers, using the proper blades and cutters. Mirrored acrylic can be cold bent for curved shapes or strip heated for a sharp bend. State-of-art laser systems can produce accurate, complex designs.
