Actuating Cam

We machined the part seen in the image, an actuating cam used for forming lids in the beverage industry. Tool steel material 1.5" in diameter and 5" in length was used to make these cam actuators. Initially, the part was CNC turned and then ground to close tolerances of ±0.0002". Drilling, boring, grooving, and threading were performed to add holes and other customer-specified features on the actuator cam. The final part was CMM-inspected and supplied to our customers.
