rotary tiller is designed for preparing land suitable for sowing seeds, eradication weeds, mixing manure or fertilizer into soil.
1. Rotary tiller is a tillage machine designed for preparing land suitable for sowing seeds, for eradication weeds, mixing manure or fertilizer into soil, to breakup and renovates pastures for crushing clods etc. It offers an advantage of rapid seedbed preparation and reduced draft compared to conventional tillage. By applying engine power to the soil through the pto rather than tractive force through tires, less power is lost and tractor weight and soil compaction is reduced.
2. There are two types of rotary tillers. One acts as an integral part of the power tiller whereas the other is a separate entity mounted on the tractor hydraulic system and powered by the tractor pto shaft. The power requirement for the tiller is about three times as much as that for the mould board plough.
