Air Cooling Tunnel

Our Air Cooling Tunnel, made by Hermetel (in year 2004), is especially designed for the purpose of cooling down the ready packed products that are loaded on galvanized steel trolleys, after 40 Celsius degree to 5 C processing. The complete Air Cooling Tunnel unit was installed in the year 2005 and has never been used. Description Cooling tunnel consist of 19 meters long double tunnel made on polyurethane panels where product trolleys are led through the in-feed and out-feed tunnel with a floor mounted transport conveyor. The conveyor is pneumatically operated via double acting rail with gripping hooks for the trolleys. Loading and unloading of trolleys is from the front of the tunnel and automatic direction change gear will turn trolleys from in-feed line to out-feed line. Totally 31 trolleys fit in the cooling tunnel in one time. Delivery includes 35 brand new galvanized steel trolleys. Hot climate design water chiller with cooling capacity of 107 kW and made by Aermec in 2004 provides cooling of the air cooling system. The water chiller is air-cooled, outdoor type and the cooling transfer media in water glycol solution. Circulation air fan system with a cooling heat exchanger is located on the roof of tunnel, cooling air at temperature of +3 C is directed in reverse product trolley transportation direction and it is circulated in closed loop. The whole unit is controlled with OMRON PLC system with a MMI screen together with microprocessor based control unit of the water chiller. Tunnel takes 31 trolleys with 180 kg product each (totally approx 5600 kg packed product) and cooling from +40 C to +5C will take 20 hours if the product is packed in no thicker that 10 cm packs.
