Aluminum boron alloy is a type of metal alloy that is composed of varying amounts of aluminum and boron. The addition of boron to aluminum can enhance its strength, stiffness, and wear resistance, as well as reduce its coefficient of thermal expansion.

The most common aluminum boron alloy is 2024 aluminum, which contains approximately 4.4% copper, 1.5% magnesium, 0.6% manganese, and 0.15% chromium, in addition to 0.03-0.13% boron. This alloy is often used in aerospace and structural applications due to its high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent fatigue resistance.

Another aluminum boron alloy is 7075 aluminum, which contains approximately 5.6% zinc, 2.5% magnesium, 1.6% copper, and 0.23% chromium, in addition to 0.2% boron. This alloy is also commonly used in aerospace applications due to its high strength and hardness.

Aluminum boron alloys can be produced through various methods, such as powder metallurgy, casting, and extrusion. The properties of the alloy can be further improved through heat treatment and cold working.
