ALUMINUM COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) sheet is made of two thin layers of aluminum bonded on either side of a polyethylene core. Because of its durability, dimensional stability, strength, and light weight, ACM is commonly used for exterior and interior signage, in construction for building cladding, insulation, and wall linings, and as a substitute for steel in many applications.
In addition to DiBond® and Alucabond®, AluPOLY® is a standout ACM material option in the PSG (Piedmont Sign Grade®) line of products. AluPOLY’s primary advantage is its versatility. With a smooth surface that can be coated or painted to any color or pattern, AluPOLY® can be made to look like wood or marble, and can have either metallic or non-metallic finishes. Piedmont Plastics stocks AluPOLY® in 2 mm, 3 mm, and 6 mm gauges with a variety of colors available. AluPOLY’s protective film ensures a quality surface and superior adhesion for a majority of inks, paints and pressure sensitive media. Because it is rigid and durable, AluPOLY® can withstand the elements without warping. Ask about our UL certified products, including AluPOLY® ACM, which is very important for our sign customer base as it is required to have all components certified in many applications and installations. AluPOLY® is available in three aluminum skin thicknesses: economy, standard, and high strength. In addition, Piedmont offers AluPOLY® Brite, a new bright white color, and AluPOLY® Digital for print applications.
