Amisulpride is a second-generation antipsychotic medication used to treat schizophrenia, acute psychotic episodes, depression, and nausea and vomiting. It's sold under the brand names Solian and Barhemsys. Amisulpride is a dopamine receptor antagonist that binds to D2 and D3 receptors, but has little affinity for serotonin or muscarinic receptors. It's similar to atypical antipsychotics, but causes fewer extra pyramidal adverse effects.
