Step 1: Selecting and Preparing the Copra

The journey begins with the careful selection of copras (dried coconut kernels). We start by checking each copra for sulfur content—only those that are completely sulfur-free are chosen. Sulfur can be harmful, and we ensure that our wood pressed coconut oil is free from such contaminants. Once selected, the copras are sun-dried to remove any remaining moisture. This natural drying process not only enhances the shelf life of the oil but also preserves its rich, authentic flavor.

Step 2: Chopping and Further Drying

After the initial drying, the copras are chopped into smaller pieces. These pieces undergo a second round of drying under the sun to further reduce moisture. This additional drying step is crucial, as it helps improve the stability and longevity of the oil, ensuring it remains fresh for a longer period.

Step 3: Cold Pressing

The dried copra pieces are then fed into a traditional cold press machine, also known as ‘chekku’ or ‘ghani’ in local languages. This wood press method is at the heart of our oil extraction process. By applying continuous pressure, the machine extracts oil at a temperature below 40 degrees Celsius, which is essential to retain the natural nutrients, aroma, and flavor of the coconut. This careful process results in what we proudly call Amogha Wood Pressed Coconut Oil.

Step 4: Filtration

The freshly extracted oil is then subjected to a filtration process to remove any remaining impurities. We use a filter press equipped with thick cotton cloth chambers. As the oil passes through these chambers, the cotton cloth filters out impurities, leaving behind a clear, pure oil with a beautiful texture. This ensures that our virgin coconut oil is not only pure but also visually appealing.

Step 5: Packaging

Finally, the filtered oil is packed into P.E.T bottles, ready for your use. Our packaging ensures that the oil retains its freshness and quality until it reaches your kitchen.
