(Amyris balsamifera) – The oil is steam distilled from the wood of Amyris. It grows in the Caribbean area and along the Gulf of Mexico. The oil is pale yellow in color and has a woody & Balsamic note. It is also referred to as West Indian Sandalwood Oil. It is used in perfumery as a fixative, pharmaceuticals and flavors.
