the benefits of this grade anthracite coal are:
1) economical over the long term (lower operating costs). This will give more than twice the life of the indian anthracite coal. (provided backwash is done regularly.) the life of this ranges from 5 years to 25 years depending on the medium. This make this option more economical. Also attrition loss per backwash is also lower.
2) low density: lesser space requirements. Due to unique density it remain above heavier media such as filter sand or manganese greensand providing a pre filtration layer. Low density means it is more value for money since we need only 20% lesser weight for the same volume of indian anthracite.
3) quality guarantee: we guarantee the quality standards in assurance to
a) awwa b 100-01 (awwa standard for granular filter material)
b) din 19643-5:2000 (treatment and disinfection of water used in bathing facilities).
4) higher adsorbtion capacity
5) lower pressure loss
6) lower initial filter resistance
7) removes turbidity, suspended solids and iron and manganese, microscopically small algae
8) it does not release any silicic acid to the water; thus the service life of the diaphragms in the reverse osmoses process is increased by a multiple. (for de-salination plants). 9) decreasing the phosphate loading of eutrophicated water through flocculation- filtration processes
