Apixaban is a novel oral anticoagulant (NOAC) that functions as a selective Factor Xa inhibitor. It is used to prevent and treat blood clots such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.

STORAGE CONDITIONS:Store at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F); excursions permitted to 15–30°C. Protect from moisture and light. Store in a tightly closed container.
HOW TO USE:Apixaban is usually taken orally twice daily, with or without food. The dosage varies depending on the indication (e.g., 2.5 mg or 5 mg twice daily). Strictly follow the physician’s prescription and do not discontinue abruptly.
HOW APIXABAN WORKS:Apixaban selectively inhibits Factor Xa, an essential enzyme in the coagulation cascade, thereby preventing the formation of thrombin and fibrin clots. It reduces the risk of thromboembolic events without the need for routine blood monitoring.
PHARMACOKINETICS OF APIXABAN:Apixaban is absorbed with ~50% bioavailability, reaching peak plasma concentrations in 3–4 hours. It is partially metabolized by CYP3A4 and excreted via urine and feces. Its half-life is approximately 12 hours.
SIDE EFFECTS OF APIXABAN: The Common Side Effects Of Apixaban AreBleeding (major and minor), Anemia, Nausea, Hypotension, Bruising, Allergic reactions (rare).
PRECAUTIONS: Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment. Avoid concomitant use with other anticoagulants. Not recommended in patients with active bleeding. Discontinue before surgical procedures. Monitor for signs of bleeding and anemia.
