Contact SupplierThere are four different designs of heat exchangers shell and tube, plate, regenerative, intermediate fluids or solids. The most typical type is shell and tube designs. This includes multiple finned tubes. One of fluids runs through tubes while other fluids runs over them, causing it to be heated or cooled. In plate exchangers fluids flows through battles. This causes fluids to be separated by plates with large surface area. In order to maximize surface area contact, plates are used in plate heat exchangers. Multiple flat plates can be stacked one on top of other in order to form hermetically sealed volume into which fluids may be pumped. The regenerative heat exchanger takes advantage of heat from specific process in order to heat fluid used in same process. Tube heat exchangers can be designed to hold high pressure, high temperature thermal exchange. Parallel flow heat exchangers involves fluid flowing in same direction, in a parallel configuration. Counter flow heat exchangers are constructed to flow in opposite directions.
