ASME SA 387 Gr. 5 Cl. 1 and Cl. 2 Plates are chrome-moly alloy steel plates designed for high-temperature, pressure vessel, and boiler applications. With a 5% chromium and 0.5% molybdenum composition, these plates offer excellent oxidation resistance, thermal stability, and high-temperature strength.
The main difference between Class 1 and Class 2 is the tensile strength, with Class 2 offering slightly higher strength. These plates are ideal for use in refineries, petrochemical plants, power stations, and heat exchangers.
Key FeaturesExcellent heat and oxidation resistance
Maintains strength at elevated temperatures
Enhanced creep and rupture resistance
Good weldability and formability
Available in normalized and tempered condition
