Astha Dhatu Maa Durga

Maa durga, one who can redeem in situations of utmost distress is a form of devi, the supremely radiant goddess, depicted as having ten arms, riding a lion or a tiger, carrying weapons and a lotus flower, maintaining a meditative smile, and practicing mudras, or symbolic hand gestures. Maa durga also called durga kali or maa shakti. Devi durga’s darker aspect kali is represented as the consort of the god shiva, on whose body she is often seen standing. Goddess durga is a combined power (shakti) of all gods to destroy the demons. The word shakti means divine feminine energyforcepower, and durga is the warrior aspect of the divine mother. Shree nava durga has nine different forms worshiped during the period of navratras coming twice a year.
The nine forms of goddess durga kali are :-
1.) shailputri (daughter of himalaya )
2.) brahmcharini (which helps in attaining the spiritual bliss)
3.) chandraghanta ( which is having the moon in her necklace )
4.) kooshmanda ( her stomach representing the three worlds)
5.) skandmata (the mother of sanatkumar, born out of her powers)
6.) katyani (the daughter of sage katyan)
7.) kalratri (the destroyer of kal )
8.) maha-gauri (the wife of lord shiva)
9.) sidhidatri (provider of sidhis)
all physical, mental, financial and health related problems of a devotee are removed by worshipping maa durga.
Offerings to made during worship – red clothes, red flowers, red chandan, akshat (unbrokem rice), rice, dhoop, ghee lamp, sweets (navadyam) etc.
Yantra to be used – a “navarn yantra”, made on the auspicious day suitable as per your date of birth should be kept before the photo of shree durga.
Main (beej) mantras -” om aim hreem kleem chamundaye vichay ” or “om dum durga-yaye namah”.
Mala (rosary) of 108 beadsd to be used for repeating the mantra – rudraksha or red chandan.
Procedure – first of all keep a “shree navarn yantra” in front of the photo of goddess durga and make the offerings of flowers, sweets, akshat and burn dhoop
