The Combination
Neels Asthma Tea is a combination of Camellia Sinensis (Tea) and Adathoda Vasica. Adathoda Vasica or sinhasya in Sanskrit means “lion mouthed” from the shape of its flowers.
How It Works
Neels Asthma Tea contains alkaloids, vasicine and vasicinone that provide relief from cough, asthma and bronchitis.
Neels Asthma Tea as a Bronchodilator
A bronchodilator is a substance that dilates the bronchi and bronchioles, decreasing airway resistance and thereby facilitating airflow. During an Asthma episode the respiratory passages get congested with excess mucus which obstructs free flow of air. The Vasicinone, the auto-oxidation product of vasicine has been reported to cause bronchodilatory effects.
Neels Asthma Tea as An Anti-Allergen
An asthma attack is typically caused by a trigger. A trigger is an external agent such as dust, pollen etc which induce irritation in the respiratory tract thereby causing constriction of airway passages. These irritants are called as allergens. Vasicine; an active present in Adathoda Vasica is an effective anti-allergen and is also known to offer significant protection against histamine-induced bronchospasm.
