We are one of the paramount weather station manufacturer and suppliers based in India. We offer you spacious range of automatic weather station and automated weather station at competent prices. Introduction of Automatic Weather Station The most important contribution of aviation to the economy of every nation is the provision of effective national & international transport system. In most industrialized countries, more than 90% of the international long distance travel is now-a-days by air. For many developing countries modern tourism, made possible by effective air links, represents a valuable contribution to the national economy. World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) was set up in 1951 by UN and a Commission for Aeronautical Meteorology (CAeM) was set up to deal with international aspects of the application of meteorology in support of air navigation. The International Civil Aviation Organisation(ICAO) was established in 1947. ICAO is responsible for the specification of aviation requirements in the field of meteorology and for relations with other aeronautical services and operators. ICAO regulations define state responsibility regarding the safety, efficiency and regularity of international air navigation. Meteorology gives valuable support to aviation and is indispensable for the safety of air navigation. Airline transport depends largely on turbojet and turboprop aircraft. Departure time, take-off weight, flight path and altitudes, reserve fuel, alternate airdrome and landing weight are adjusted according to the data provided by the aeronautical meteorological service. Essential meteorological data for take-off and landing are wind direction, wind speed, temperature, humidity or dew point, pressure, visibility and runway visual range, cloud height and weather. The impact of a relatively small change in wind, visibility, temperature or pressure on air operations is very high. Hence it is essential to equip each aeronautical meteorological station with accurate and reliable instruments located at the right position on the aerodrome. These stations continuously monitor and report all weather parameters essential for aviation. These stations are equipped with CWIS (Current Weather Instruments System) for continuous indication and recording of Temperature, Dew Point / Humidity, Wind Speed, Wind Direction and Pressure. CWIS consists of : a.Sensors at site near touch down zone b.Main console at Met Briefing Room (MBR) c.Slave Display at Air Traffic Control (ATC) Automatic Weather Station (AWS) : An AWS is a station at which instruments make and either transmit or record observations automatically. The conversion to code form, if required, being made either directly or at an editing station AWS consists of : 1. Sensors 2. Signal conditioning Amplifier 3. Data conversion, storage and transmission Subsystem 4. Radio Relay System 5. Radio Receiver 6. Data Acquisition System 7. Computer with necessary software 8. Slave displays for ATC & MBR Description of the system 1. Sensors : The system employs sensors for Temperature, Pressure, Humidity, Wind Speed and Wind Direction. Changes in physical properties of sensors which varies linearly with change in meteorological parameters are registered. 2. Signal Conditioning Amplifier : The signal Conditioning Unit accepts the input signals from sensors and gives a necessary conditioned electrical output corresponding to the entire range of each parameter. 3. Data conversion, storage and transmission Subsystem : This subsystem is composed of signal conditioning hardware for preventing unwanted external sources of interference from influencing the raw sensor signals, for protecting the equipments and for adapting signals to make them suitable for the data processing. This subsystem digitizes the data and converts it into a suitable format for radio transmission. All the parameters will be transmitted after every 5 seconds. In case of Radio link failure the data is stored in the internal memory provided. One minute average data of each parameter will be stored. The memory provided is sufficient to store data for 15 days (Or as per IAF need). 4. Radio Relay System : The data is transmitted through VHF / UHF half duplex / simplex transceiver. This transceiver uses packet switching protocol using CRC error detection and correction to prevent incorrect data at receiving end. The Radio Relay system will be capable of transmitting the signals for more than 5 Km. aerial distance. The RF MODEM is engineered for dependable and versatile digital communications with in-built intelligence and CRC check. These units reflect many year of experience are built with an eye towards emerging applications. The MODEM can fill a variety of rolls including basic packet, GPS / APRS, and telemetry. The VHF/ UHF sets are full-featured FM transceivers designed for flexible mobile and base station business communications in the VHF and UHF land mobile bands. These leading edge transceivers provide 5W / 25W of transmitter power. Highly integrated surface mount circuit design and a die-cast aluminum chassis assure reliability. Important channel frequency data is easily programmable by using PC. RF MODEM will accept the data input from Data converter, storage and transmission subsystem. The intelligence inside the MODEM will convert the data into packet formats, will use error correction algorithm. This data will be modulated and transmitted using RF link to MBR (Met. Briefing Room). 5. Radio receiver : The data transmitted by the Radio relay system, is received, demodulated and is checked for CRC for the data integrity. On receipt of correct valid data acknowledgment is transmitted to the Radio Relay System. The received and demodulated data is then brought out for Data Acquisition System RF MODEM packet communicator along with VHF/UHF set will be used at this point as FM receiver. 6. Data Acquisition System : Data Acquisition function consists of scanning and storing the output of radio receiver modules at a predetermined rate and translating the signals into computer readable format. The METLOG 02 is a rugged and compact microprocessor based data logger designed to provide a cost-effective solution for meteorological data acquisition and transmission. A simple, user-friendly interface provides access to the METLOG's programmable features, including data storing interval and data printing interval. This programmability, along with its impressive array of sensor capabilities, makes the METLOG a flexible and cost-effective choice for a vast number of monitoring applications. The sophisticated data processor within the METLOG collects and formats the data from the connected sensors. The collected data is then time tagged with on board real-time clock and is then transmitted via RS232 or RS422 to a computer, Cable Modem or a Radio Modem. The METLOG has 6 analog input channels, 2 digital input channels and 2 RS232 input channels. Out of the 6 analog input channels, 3 of which are dedicated to the following specific sensors: Wind Direction, Air Temperature, Relative Humidity. The remaining three channels are provided for future expansion and can be used for any analog sensor with either a dc voltage or 4-20mA output, such as: Barometric Pressure, Wind Speed etc. One of the digital input channels is dedicated to Rainfall Sensor and the other digital input can be used for TTL output Wind Speed sensor. The RS232 input channels can be used for interfacing the METLOG with Ceilometer and Transmissometer. The METLOG automatically calculates and reports other parameters including dew point, maximum wind speed of a day, minimum Wind speed of the day, one hour rainfall and 24 hour rainfall, 1 minute average, 2 minute average, 10 minute average of all the parameters. Also METLOG calculates QNH value from QFE value from the pressure sensor. The METLOG considers temperature variations while calculating QNH value. The METLOG may be powered from either 220 VAC, 50 Hz or from 12 -26 VDC. The system also offers connectivity to solar panel options for remote installations and a battery for uninterruptible operation. The METLOG can transmit data via various telemetry devices including, VHF/UHF radio, and landline, which can be either RS-232 or RS-485 output. The RS-485 output enables cable connection to a PC over distance up to 1 Km without the requirement of an additional modem. The distance can be further increased using a suitable cable Modem. The METLOG can be configured and programmed using a simple on board 5 keys keyboard thus eliminating the use of any additional hand held device. Following functions can be programmed: Date and Time, Engineering Units (English or Metric), Connected Sensors, Time interval of Data Storage, Baud rate of each communication channel. The METLOG outputs data compatible with a suite of PC software that includes a graphic display, database archive and report generator. The software may be run on a stand alone PC or on a LAN. 7. PC Software : The software provided on the PC will compute the data and will provide the means of long-term data storage and retrieval. The met observer will be able to view the data in graphical format using the user-friendly PC software provided with the system. 8. Slave Displays for ATC & MBR : Slave displays will be provided in ATC and MBR for easy and fast parameter reading in digital format. These displays will indicate the sensor values of temperature, dew point / humidity, Wind speed, Wind Direction, pressure after every 6 seconds along with runway number. In addition to these values, slave display will also indicate the real time clock synchronized to the Data Acquisition System. The displays will also indicate 2 minutes average and 10 minute average values of wind speed and wind direction.
