Fabricated Basket Strainers allow top removal of the screen. The basket, with a lifting handle enables the easy removal of all particulate captured and retained by the screen. These are used for applications where larger amounts of solid particulate are expected, and where clean-out is frequent. Most models have a standard or optional “Quick Release Cover” to allow fast and easy screen removal without the use of tools. For easily flushable solids, a modified cone-bottom basket can be fitted, with automatic or manual blow-down through the drain port. Without interrupting the process flow, this will allow clean-out without removal of the screen.
Basket Type Strainer Design
The perforated thermoplastic baskets type strainer designs are heavy-duty welded construction designed for durability as well as ease of basket removal and cleaning. To reduce the pressure drop across a clean basket, and to increase time between cleanings; they have a large ratio of open basket area to pipe size. A variety of hole diameters are available. A spare basket on hand at all times is recommended.
