The amount of oil left in Cottonseed cake after the extraction process affects the energy value of the meal. It is a high protein product and is quite palatable.

Cottonseed meal is sufficient as a sole source of protein for mature ruminants such as cattle and sheep. It can provide a major portion of the protein for dairy cows.
