Biometrics is a type of access control mechanism that can be used to verify an individual's identity with a unique personal attribute. Examples are fingerprints, palm scans, retina scans, and voice prints. These kinds of authentication systems gather a lot of information that can be hard to imitate, thus they provide a higher level of protection when compared to other authentication technologies
