bitumen also known as asphalt is a gluey, black and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid product of petroleum. Bitumen is found as a natural deposit or is produced by refining crude oil. Primarily bitumen is used in road construction, however it is also used in waterproofing products such as production of roofing felt and for sealing flat roofs.
