Blind Flanges

However, corrosion resistance is restricted unless it is improved further through procedures such as hardening, tempering, and polishing. Because of the high carbon concentration in these Inconel Alloy Blind Flanges, chromium carbide compounds develop, giving exceptional wear protection and edge retention when hardened. However, using this product at these higher operating temperatures results in a significant decrease in tensile strength and hardness, with a following rise in ductility. When heated to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, they will harden to some extent unless gently chilled to below the crucial temperature. It undergoes heating at temperatures ranging from 1200 to 1400 degrees Fahrenheit (649 to 760 degrees Celsius), followed by air chilling.
