Bursting Strength Tester Digital

Bursting strength tester is the most widely used machine in industries where raw materials like paper, cardboard, cloth, rexine, leather, foil, etc. is used. This machine is used to check the bursting strength of the material. It works on the very simple principle of applying pressure until sample ruptures. The pressure is not applied directly on the sample. A hydraulic pressure is applied via rubber diaphragm. The medium of pressure will be glycerine oil. Calculating the bursting strength is the perfect way to calculate one of the properties of the material.

The life of diaphragm depends on the number of the tests performed. To perform the test, the sample is clamped in the annular clamp. It is always advised to clamp the sample with nominal pressure. If the clamped sample is loose, it will tend to slip after the application of pressure. If it is too tight, more than required pressure need to be applied. This results in inaccurate readings.
