Contact SupplierCap: The button mushroom, also known as white mushroom or cremini (when slightly darker), has a smooth, rounded cap, typically 2–7 cm in diameter. In its immature "button " stage, the cap is closed and dome-shaped, with a creamy white to light tan color. As it matures, the cap flattens slightly.Gills: Under the cap, the gills are initially pink, turning dark brown to black as the mushroom matures. In the button stage, gills are covered by a thin veil (partial veil), which breaks as the mushroom grows.Stem: The stem is thick, short (2–5 cm), and white, with a small ring or skirt near the top (remnant of the veil). It’s firm and slightly fibrous.Texture: The flesh is firm, white, and meaty, with a mild, slightly nutty flavor. When cut, it may slightly darken but doesn’t bruise significantly.Size: Button mushrooms are harvested small (2–4 cm cap diameter) for the "button " stage, ideal for fresh market
