Chemical formula : CaO
Part of the extracted stone, selected according to its chemical composition and granulometry, is calcined at about 900^oC in Vertical kiln, fired by such fuels as coal, pet coke, etc. The CO2 of the stone is released to produce Calcined lime or Quicklime or Burnt Lime (CaO respectively).
CaCO3 + Heat = CaO + CO₂
The pebble-lime thus produced is screened, crushed, packed and dispatched according to the characteristics demanded by the customers.
High purity lime reduces its consumption in various applications at steel plants, sugar mills, paper mills & at several other industries. It is the best catalyst and base chemical for various useful industrial chemical reactions also.
