Calcium Stearate is stearic acid calcium salt; Calcium stearate is non-toxic and has many applications as stabilizer and lubricant in various industries such as PVC processing, Leather manufacturing, Foundry chemicals, Masterbatches, Cement/construction, Paint/Inks, Plastic, Rubber/Tyre/Tube,  Paper/stationery, Cosmetic, Food, Pharmaceuticals etc.
It is used as slipping agent; mould releasing agent, flatting agent, heat-stabilizer, accelerator, anti-caking agent, gelling agent etc.
General properties :

• Appearance - The material shall be in the form of white or yellowish-white solid or crystalline/fine powder
• Identifications - It gives positive reaction for Calcium and Stearate
• Solubility - practically it is insoluble in water, ether, chloroform, acetone, cold alcohol as well
• Loss on drying - 2% Max.
• Acidity and alkalinity - <0.01%
• Ash as CaO content=9.0%-11.5%
• Free fatty acid - Max. 1.0%
• Melting point - 140-160oC
• Bulk density=200-300 g/l
