 The new version of Calterm is an engineering development and test tool used to monitor the ECM (Electronic Control Module) for the Cummins engine system and to change the calibration data contained therein.  This is a Cummins engineering software package designed to develop, program and test various Cummins ECUs. It's a very powerful solution for chip tuning, but you should know what you're doing and how the changes you make can affect engine performance. WARNING: This software package is intended for use by qualified Cummins technicians.  You can damage the ECU or even the engine itself if you misuse this software.  All responsibility for such damage rests with the user.  Purpose The electronics engine development process requires PC support tools that interface with the electronics subsystem and its various feature sets.  Calterm is used to increase the productivity of engineers who develop electronic engine features by providing diagnostics, simulation and value manipulation capabilities for Electronic Control Modules (ECMs).
 Calterm is a Windows-based software tool that provides Cummins engineers with the ability to perform Cummins ECU calibration, tuning, testing and reflow development in the engineering environment.  Calterm also provides support for industry standard protocols (XCP/UDS) for communicating with non-Cummins ECMs and smart devices.
