Carboplatin Injection

Carboplatin is a platinum compound that is preferred to cisplatin by virtue of its better toxicity profile. In combination with paclitaxel, carboplatin is a gold standard for treatment of advanced ovarian cancer. AUC dosing (commonly 4-6) is generally preferred to body surface area (BSA) dosing. With a much less renal toxicity than cisplatin, a vigorous hydration schedule or forced dieresis is not required with carboplatin.
