Carnauba wax occurs as hard, brittle substances with a resinous fracture and a color ranging from dark green to pale brown. It is purified wax obtained from the leaf buds and leaves of the Brazilian palm copernicia cerifera (Arruda) mart. Its specific gravity is about 0.997. It is soluble in alcohol, chloroform and ether; but is insoluble in. water.
Uses :

Investment casting, carbon papers; used to formulate solvent- based Floor polishes;
Explosives and Dynamite cord; Non- ionic emulsions, Floor polish emulsion, chewing gum, Crayons, Cosmetics, etc.,
