Active Solar Water Heaters

• Direct Circulation : These systems use a pump to circulate water from the solar thermal collector and into the household.
• Indirect Circulation : These systems use the pump to circulate a heat-transfer fluid from the solar thermal collector. This fluid then heats the water and transfers it through the house.

Passive Solar Water Heaters

• Integrated collector storage (ICS) : In these systems the storage stank and the solar thermal collector are attached to each other.
• Convection heat storage (CHS) : In these systems the storage tank and the solar thermal collector are separated and the transfer between them is made by convection.
