Down rods are used for extending the fan from the ceiling. fan rods are used when the ceiling is too high then the air from fans may not reach the floor and therefore cooling from fans may not be felt.

Places where down rod are used:

• In false ceiling as the length of ceiling is increased so use of ceiling fan down rods becomes essential.
• Industries because the height of ceiling is too great there for long length down rods are use.
• In holy places such as temples,church the ceiling of the man hall is quite high so pull down rod are used.
