Contact SupplierUse of cellular lightweight concrete (CLC) as a walling material, roof insulation or screeding is fairly new in Indian building industry, though its widely used in most European countries. The demand for light weight blocks in Delhi NCR has recently gained momentum with growth of high rise buildings as these have a number of advantages over conventional bricks besides being eco-friendly. The density of CLC blocks is less than half of red bricks thereby reducing the dead weight of the building. This property also makes it a chosen material for earthquake prone areas. Secondly the CLC blocks have a high insulation factor because of the inbuilt voids created by foam used in the blocks. This characteristic helps reduce air-conditioning cost of the building. Thirdly, since block size is almost 10 times that of the brick, cost of masonry is greatly reduced.
