Contact SupplierCentral Venous Catheters are used with Seldinger techniques for placement of these catheters in the venous vascular compartments of the body. These catheters can have a single lumen, double lumen or triple lumen & the selection of the number of lumen is based on the requirement of the critical care needed to be administered to the patient.
With these catheters in place, the following critical parameters of the patient can be measured, and monitored & the appropriate therapeutic fluids can be administered directly into the large veins of the body (Subclavian, Internal Jugular, External Jugular).
Measurement of central venous pressure (CVP).
Venous access when no peripheral veins are available (e.g., due to peripheral vascular collapse).
Administration of vasoactive/inotropic drugs which cannot be otherwise given through the peripheral veins.
Administration of hypertonic solutions (e.g., total parenteral nutrition).
Also, the use of multi-lumen catheters prevents the mixing of incompatible drugs, thus minimizing their drug interactions & subsequent complications.
