Centrifugal Oil Cleaner

Centrifugal Oil Cleaner model 600s are widely in use on ALCO 251 series Locomotives for Mainline Diesel Engines in India. The fitment is done at the Diesel Loco Works at Varanasi where over 3000 engines have been in operation since the last 14 years. The inlet to the centrifuge is sourced from the lube pump outlet and the drain given through the crankcase door. This cleanable unit requires no consumables and is very effective in increasing the filter drain intervals as well as the time between engine overhauls. A safety Cut-off valve set to 2.5 BAR protects the engine from oil starvation at low idle RPM. Negligible pressure drop paves the way for a safe and efficient oil filtration unit.
