Ceramic Fiber Paper

separation between kiln shelf and glass up to 1600f. It is a one-use material that is very delicate after
firing. Use ceramic fiber paper to protect the surface of a hard ceramic kiln shelf when fusing or slumping
glass. Glass will fuse to an unprotected hard ceramic kiln shelf. Ceramic fiber paper (often called thin
fire shelf paper) is an alternative to applying kiln wash to a hard ceramic kiln shelf.
place a piece of fiber paper between the shelf and your glass so the glass will not stick to the shelf. This
saves you from coating the kiln shelf with kiln wash. Ceramic fiber paper is used under glass during firing.
