Ceramic Tape

CBT is used to prevent molten metal leakage from the backside of a full penetration weld. A full penetration weld requires something to block the gap from molten metal overflow. CBT helps achieve that, Ceramic Backing tape is a non-metallic ceramic material which is temporarily attached to the reverse side of a weld while helping to support a full penetration weld, It is made with several pieces of small ceramic tiles, glued to an adhesive tap, It is easy to apply, easy to clean up after the welding is completed, and can greatly improve welding quality and throughput, See next page for shapes and sizes available.
