Chandra Shanti Puja Kit

Chandra is a lunar deity. Chandra (Moon) is also known as Soma and identified with the Vedic Lunar deity Soma. He is described as young, beautiful, fair; two-armed and having in his hands a club and a lotus. He rides his chariot (the moon) across the sky every night, pulled by ten white horses or an antelope.He is connected with dew, and as such,is one of the gods of fertility. He is also called Nishadipati (Nisha=night;Adipathi=Lord) and Kshuparaka (one who illuminates the night). He as Soma, presides over Somvar or Monday.
Mantra: Om sram srim sraum sah chandraya namah.
To be chanted on Monday evening, especially during major or minor Moon periods.
Day: Monday, between 4.30 to 5.50 pm, or 10:30 pm -11:50 pm
On the designated day and time, chanting mantra 27 times donate Chandra shanti pack to shivmandir or chandraprabhu in jain temple or immerse in seariver. Also show obeisance to Moon thereafter.
Fasting: On Mondays, especially during Moon transits and major or minor Moon periods
