Gluing together wood particles with an adhesive, under heat and pressure makes chipboard. This creates a rigid board with a relatively smooth surface. Chipboard is available in a number of densities: -normal, medium and high-density. Manufactured under standard dimensions of 1220mm x 1830mm (4’ x 6’), 1220mm x 2440mm (4’ x 8’), and 1830mm x 2440mm (6’ x 8’). The standard thickness is available in 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 16mm, 18mm, 25mm and 30m.
