Chlorinated Paraffin Oil

Chlorinated Paraffin’s (CPs) are complex mixtures of certain organic compounds containing chloride: polychlorinated n-alkanes. Chlorinated Paraffin’s are classified according to their carbon-chain length and percentage of chlorination, with carbon-chain lengths generally ranging from C10 to C20 and chlorination from approximately 52% by weight. It is a transparent viscous liquid having distinct sweet odor. It is essentially insoluble in water but soluble in other chlorinated solvents.
