Closed Blow Drum

  In a refinery, each piece of equipment or vessel is tied in to a relief system. So if one piece of equipment were to fail or was overpressured and needed to relieve pressure, it would do so through the relief valves into a relief header, and ultimately into a blow-down drum. The chemicals and gases cannot be released to the atmosphere so they are released to a drum.
